Some are afraid of trying to learn the game, and making mistakes, with so many other players around, while others are intimidated by the idea of competing against so many other players. In reality, there usually is no competition between players, unless that type of game is specifically chosen, and other players are rarely aware of any mistakes others are making while playing. In addition, most players are happy to help new players learn the ropes of the game.

Most of the reasons given for not playing multiplayer online games come from a basic lack of knowledge about the games. In reality, the games have become so popular because they are so much fun for everyone.
